Maya has more than a decade of experience in strategic communications with a strong background in writing, media relations, campaign development and project management. At Burness, she focuses on initiatives related to health policy, health care delivery system reform, health equity, community development and affordable housing. Her clients include the Commonwealth Fund, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and Conservation Law Foundation.

Prior to joining Burness in 2012, Maya led communications and online outreach for Young Invincibles (YI), a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering young Americans, where she partnered with dozens of organizations and the Obama administration to help young adults enroll in health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. Previously, she interned on Capitol Hill for Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper.

Maya earned her B.A. from Allegheny College with degrees in political science and communications. In her free time, she enjoys curling up with a good book, cooking and planning her next trip with her husband and young son. She lives in Boston, Massachusetts.
