Preeti joined Burness in 2000 and has since become a leading global health and international development communications strategist. She advises organizations such as the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, The Rockefeller Foundation, Medicines Patent Pool and PATH’s Malaria Vaccine Initiative on how to advance their issues globally.

She has led press operations at major scientific conferences such as the Multilateral Initiative on Malaria meetings held in Africa and the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene annual meeting; helped release trial results for drugs and vaccines for malaria, tuberculosis and meningitis; supported a climate justice campaign aimed at the United Nations; raised the media profiles of global health security experts and more. Her deep knowledge of the global health and climate space has enabled her to create a network of journalist contacts spanning the globe — from Johannesburg to Berlin to New Delhi to New York.

Before joining Burness, Preeti studied at the University at Albany and worked for a nonprofit organization serving the neurologically disabled. She lives in Bethesda with her dog Emma.
