Since joining Burness in 2011, Lowell has worked with clients like the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and Brookings Institution on national campaigns that shed light on health issues impacting people of color and underrepresented communities.

He has helped secure media coverage for national efforts, facilitated trainings to help foundation leaders and national stakeholders use social media to advance efforts around expanding access to care, and developed messaging around the importance of creating a diverse and culturally competent workforce.

Prior to Burness, Lowell interned with the U.S. Agency for International Development and Lockheed Martin, where he provided internal communications support and conducted social media outreach.
